Recent guest reviews reveal a significant decline in the La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Bozeman's service quality and operational efficiency. Guests consistently reported issues ranging from unresponsiveness at the front desk and malfunctioning gym equipment to cleanliness concerns and inaccurate billing practices. While some reviewers noted positive aspects like a convenient location and a generally clean property, several recent complaints highlight systemic problems.
We had a very disappointing experience at this La Quinta and will not be staying with the brand again. After a long stay in a national park, we arrived around noon and understood it was too early to check in. My wife politely asked if we could use the gym while we waited, and the front desk staff member said no because we needed a key. I then politely asked the same question and received the same answer. When I asked if we could speak with a manager, I was told the manager was not there, with no other help offered. After explaining that other hotels on our multi-week road trip had easily allowed gym access in similar situations, and that the staff member could simply open the door for us, he eventually went to open it. Unfortunately, the gym had no working A/C, no way to turn it on, and the elliptical was not working. Later that evening, another front desk employee confirmed there was nothing they could do about the heat. The experience continued downhill at check-in. When we entered our assigned non-smoking room, it smelled like smoke, so I had to return to the front desk and request a room change. In the new room, the bathroom sink was clogged, adding yet another maintenance issue to the stay. The next morning, my key did not work for the gym. When I asked at the front desk, a different employee told me they normally leave a weight in the door to keep the gym open because of the lack of A/C. In other words, the initial insistence that “you need a key” was not really accurate, and the situation could have been handled much more reasonably from the beginning. We also replied to the hotel’s own “reply to this text if you have any feedback” message and specifically asked that our concerns be escalated to management. No one ever responded. Because of this stay, I canceled another upcoming La Quinta reservation at a different location. The poor service, lack of management follow-up, smoke smell in a non-smoking room, clogged bathroom sink, broken gym equipment, and overheated fitness room made this one of the worst hotel experiences of our trip.
Not enough water pressure to shower, ice machine on our floor was working.working Room smaller then most hotels in this price during our 3 week trip. Don't think we will stay again. HALLS, LOBBY AND COMMON AREA WAY TO HOT! Booked through third party maybe thats why we had such bad experience.
The service was amazing as I came in from a 690 mile drive. The young lady was, smiling and efficient. Rooms were clean, but the shower was not so good. The coffee is definitely not strong enough but drinkable. All in all... I will be back. I'll have my own coffee though. Haha
Staff is great. Beds were comfortable. We stayed in a double queen room and it was extremely small with light bulbs out in two lamps. Bathroom lighting was very dim. Breakfast was your very basic of basic fare; tasteless eggs, heated sausage links (no browning), and dried out potatoe cubes. Oatmeal would have been nice.
I don’t usually leave reviews, but this stay was frustrating enough that I feel it’s important to share. From the start, it was clear the hotel wasn’t fully in working order. Basic amenities that most guests rely on simply weren’t available. The lack of functioning vending machines was especially inconvenient, leaving no easy option for snacks or drinks—particularly later in the evening. What made this more disappointing was the alternative the hotel provided. The options were extremely limited and, frankly, overpriced. Paying $8 for just two candy bars felt unreasonable, especially when there were no other convenient choices. It created the impression that guest convenience wasn’t a priority. Overall, the experience fell well below expectations, especially considering the cost of the stay. Situations like this leave a lasting impression, and it’s hard to feel satisfied when even the basics aren’t covered. I hope management takes a closer look at these issues and considers how experiences like this affect returning guests
Rooms and staff were terrific. Only thing wrong was the hot tub was not hot, dealbreaker for grandkids. Reason for a 4 not 5. Breakfast was very good and nice and warm. Place is super clean, nice job housekeeping.
Hey we had a wonderful stay here, I know asked to check out at twelve today but I can pay a ten dollar tip if we can check out at one today. I apologize for asking but see we live in BozemanMt have been since 2013 ani love it here, anywho we were wondering if we could an can check out at one o clock today. That is when they will be done spraying our apt. They an the last to big building witch our unit is on the third floor but yea this is why I asked I leave a ten dollar tip if that helps. Pls an thank you.
I was booking directly on their website and decided to give them a call to verify the availability in the fact that they accept pets. They said because I was booking with the Pet. I could not book on the website. Which is fine. However, the room that I was booking on the website was only going to cost me $88 with taxes and fees included. When I went to book with them directly on the phone, they wanted to charge me $135 even though their pet fee is only $25. I’m glad that I called because if I had booked online, they told me that they would not have refunded me the room. Make sure you call before you book with these guys.
Was traveling through Bozeman and decided to get a room. Was a nice place. It has a pool and hot tub. The exercise room is down in the basement. Really nice place to chill and lay my head down for the night. They have breakfast too, and a little Mart incase you want something while you are at the hotel. Emma working the front desk was really nice and helpful.
The rooms were clean and decent for the price which is all we needed. The breakfast was lackluster. The eggs were very watery, the juice was rancid, and when we went to check back a second time they had run out of food for the morning around 8 am. Everything else was fine. It's located right off the interstate exit so it's easy to get to. We did not try the pool or gym due to time constraints, but we looked at them and both were small in size. The halls of this establishment are like a maze. The lighting in the hotel bathroom is adjustable but very low even on the highest setting.
