The Lewis & Clark Motel consistently receives rave reviews for its unique charm, exceptional hospitality, and well-maintained amenities. Guests consistently praise the friendly and passionate owner, Lisa, who creates a welcoming and memorable experience, often describing it as feeling like visiting friends. It’s a standout option for travelers seeking a personalized and delightful stay in Bozeman.
We had a lovely stay here a few weeks back. We were a bit hesitant to book since it’s on a busy street, but it was very quiet in the rooms and the lobby area. We enjoyed that it was so close to town and also the great co-op next to it. Lisa, who runs the place was incredible. Our two boys, ages 12 and 8, asked to go back in the summer so that we can experience Bozeman in the summer and we plan to stay here again. Lisa offers the best continental breakfast with homemade pastries that we all enjoyed! Their lobby area is spectacular and the pool makes a worlds difference at the end of a busy day or to kick off the morning with a nice swim.
What a delight! It's an excellent motel - large rooms, comfortable beds, convenient location - but also so much more. The staff treats you like family friends, the swimming pool and spa in the lower level are gorgeous, the baked goods at breakfast are exceptional and the lobby decor offers endless discovery. Please make this gem a stop on your stay in Bozeman!
50 YEARS IN 2026. I have stayed at the Lewis & Clark Motel at least 5 times since 2020. Every time I stay, I'm impressed with the professionalism of the operation and staff. The owner/manager has been actively involved since she was 7 and is always working to make sure guests have the best experience possible. Its clear that that motel is her lifes work and her passion is her guests. My last stay was in February of 2026. I watched the owner buzzing around all over working, cleaning, and bringing out goodies she baked for her guests. I realized that moment that I wasnt just paying for a room for my family... but I was paying for her lifetime of experience curating a perfect stay experience. The expertise, passion, and professionalism of the Owner and management, is the intangible that makes staying at the Lewis and Clark worth every penny.
You need to stay at this motel. It has so much character and soul, a true original. You can tell the owners put a lot of love into the place. The infrared saunas are brand new and state of the art. And the pool and hot tub were nicer than hotel I’ve stayed at for this price point. The clouded breakfast was very homey, and the rooms were spacious and had no issues. 10/10
We LOVE staying at the Lewis and Clark Motel. The beds were exceptionally cozy. The property was spotless, which really stood out and made the stay relaxing and welcoming. The pool and spa are beautiful and well maintained What truly sets this place apart is the management. They were friendly, attentive and genuinely cared about making sure guests had a great experience.
We love staying at the Lewis and Clark. The rooms are spacious and comfortable and the location is great. You can walk downtown and it’s a short drive to campus. The central location actually makes it a quick trip to anywhere in Bozeman. The spa area, exercise room, pool and hot tub are fantastic. They’re newly renovated and always clean and kept up. It’s very relaxing and never too crowded. Lisa and Bryan are great hosts and it actually feels like visiting friends who want to make your stay the best that it can be. The lobby is always decorated for the holidays. Christmas is extra special with its huge display of nutcrackers of every type imaginable. Homemade cookies, banana bread and croissants are some of my favorite goodies offered in the lobby. They also have a great little store full of snacks and drinks for purchase.
A visit in December with my grandson to tour MSU. Lisa stayed up until 1AM to greet us. The lobby is a delightful ode to Christmas with over 1300 nutcrackers set in meaningful vignettes throughout, with a variety of Christmas music quietly playing. An excellent continental breakfast is available each morning. My grandson used the fabulous pool and sauna. Just amazing. This place was a special find and we will be back if he attends MSU!
Best stay in Bozeman - hands down! We've been coming to this local motel for years, and it never disappoints. Lisa, the owner who has lovingly run the place since it opened in 1976, is an absolute gem. She treats everyone like family, but she has a special soft spot for our daughters - she makes them feel like total VIPs every single time we visit. The girls literally cheer when we pull into the parking lot because they know they're about to see Lisa and head straight for the pool, hot tub and sauna (which are always clean and perfect). The rooms are always clean and the beds are ridiculously comfortable (we all sleep like rocks). The whole vibe is warm, welcoming and genuinely Montana. If you're staying anywhere else in Bozeman, you're honestly missing out. Lisa and her motel are the real deal - we wouldn't dream of booking anywhere else. Thank you, Lisa, for making every trip feel like coming home! Highly, highly recommend - 10 stars if I could give them!
We just are coming back from our 2nd stay at this Hotel and we love it. It's close to walking downtown, the rooms are a bit older, but the bed, bedding, showers and amenities are amazing. The hot tub, dry sauna, steam room and pool make you feel like you are at a spa. The lobby and it's theme each hoilday are magical. Lastly, the hospitality from Lisa and her team are out of this world. We will stay here everytime we go back to Bozeman.
My husband and I absolutely love Lewis & Clark. They are family-owned and run. Firstly, they are so nice. The lobby is always beautifully decorated, especially during the holidays. Their pool and hot tub is magical. Their rooms are spacious which is nice if you have a pop and play for your baby. There is a fan in the room!!! This may not be a big deal for some, but as a woman with hormones, it is a dream come true. The entire hotel is so clean. We also love the location - walkable to all the restaurants and shopping but far enough away to not feel so busy or loud. It is also right next to Maven's (if you're a cheese lover) and a beautiful park a couple of blocks away. I cannot say enough wonderful things about this hotel and the people who take care of it. They are all about the small details and it shows! Pro tip: Book directly with the hotel for a discount.
