The Quality Inn & Suites Bozeman offers affordable accommodations with generally positive feedback, particularly regarding the friendly and helpful staff. However, recent reviews highlight significant concerns about room conditions, overbooking issues, and safety concerns in the surrounding area. Overall, the property appears suitable for a short, budget-conscious stay.
Stayed here overnight and overall had a really positive experience. The staff was excellent—super friendly, helpful, and genuinely made us feel welcome from check-in to check-out. They went out of their way to answer questions about the area and even recommended some local spots we loved. Breakfast was a pleasant surprise—great selection with hot options that were fresh and tasty every morning. Nothing fancy, but definitely better than your average hotel continental spread. The indoor pool was clean and well-maintained, which was a nice bonus after a long day. The room itself was simple and a bit worn around the edges (some dated fixtures and minor wear on the furniture), but it was spotlessly clean and comfortable enough for a good night’s sleep. Everything worked as it should—no complaints there. If you’re looking for a straightforward, clean, affordable place to crash in Bozeman with friendly service and a solid breakfast, this Quality Inn delivers. Would happily stay again.
So i was little worried when booking the room but when i arrived the lady that checked me in was so nice. She also worked the next morning when i was checking out on 13th december and was literally the nicest person ever. The room is old but smelled really fresh and was clean. The bathroom was clean and didnt have any old stains on the bathtub like some other even newer hotels have. Overall for the price i think its really good value!
I accidentally booked this hotel thinking it was a different one, but I was pleasantly surprised with how happy I was with it. The lady doing breakfast made it all worth it. She was kind, had it ready early, and welcomed us in a couple minutes early. Thanks for making this a pleasant stay. She deserves a raise.
Checked into this hotel and were offered a room which we entered that had a overwhelming chemical pesticide smell that overwhelmed us with coughing and tearing so they moved us to another room which was in horrible condition. The room had no hair dryer no outlet for the coffee maker so we had to use the coffee maker in the bathroom and use the ironing board to put our toiletries onto. The bathroom walls were filthy and had been spots would appear to be but not tested to be mold but was very apparent. When we tried to speak to management we were denied I tried emailing and received a notification that the email address was a Spam address never received a phone call or any type of communication for management in regard to this situation this hotel situated in the neighborhood that looks to be a high risk neighborhood with drug deals occurring outside of the hotel parking lot with frequent calls from policeman flashing by. I'm posting this to warn other Travelers and possibly Gatlin Health Department should be notified at the situation
It's a reasonably priced hotel. What you see is what you get. A little rundown but the staff is still keeping things clean. They are very serious about not checking in until 3 p.m. although you can hang out in the lobby if you need. The free breakfast in the morning is actually pretty decent and well-stocked.
Quality Inn is suitable for a short, one-night stay, ideally when arriving in the evening and departing the following morning. The hotel itself is satisfactory and appears to have undergone a recent light renovation. The rooms are in good condition, with clean and comfortable beds, including quality pillows. The main drawback is the surrounding area, as there are two homeless shelters located in close proximity. For an overnight stay, this hotel is perfectly adequate. However, for a longer visit, I would recommend choosing accommodation on the other side of the freeway, closer to downtown.
Unsafe practices, unethical billing — avoid this hotel We booked and fully prepaid through Choice Hotels’ website for a room with two queen beds for our family of four. When we arrived on July 31, 2025, staff said our pre-paid room was “unavailable” and put us in a king + sofa bed suite that, according to their own system, only allows 3 people max. When the system flagged over-occupancy, staff manually removed our two children from the reservation to override the limit. One staff member even told us: “If there was a fire, remove the kids from your room as this room doesn’t allow 2 kids to stay.” This is not just bad service — it’s a serious safety risk and fire code violation. In an emergency, our children would not have been accounted for. It got worse — we were later charged $50 for a “damaged pillow” that we never used. The pillow was visibly worn when it was brought from storage by staff (could be caught on security cameras as the staff carried the pillow under her armpit all the way through the hallway and elevator when walking us to our room), yet management refused to review the footage, was extremely impatient and kept interrupting during our call, and never sent the promised report even though he wrote down the email address I provided at the call. Key takeaways for future guests: - Don’t expect the room you fully pre-paid to be honored. - Watch out for unsafe occupancy workarounds. - Check your credit card for surprise charges. - Management showed no accountability or professionalism. We have reported this to Choice Hotels corporate and relevant authorities. Until serious changes are made, I strongly do not recommend staying here.
Rooms are clean and comfortable. The rest of the experience is horrible. Be aware there is a homeless camp across the street. The breakfast was a joke no meat with flavorless eggs. For the price of this room the staff could have run to a grocery store and picked up some flavorless sausage as well. I would avoid the Quality Inn Bozeman at all costs.
Completely unacceptable. We arrived at Quality Inn Bozeman with a confirmed reservation that we made months in advance, only to be told the hotel was overbooked and had no room for us. No prior notice, no apology from management — just a shocked front desk employee. The front desk staff was at least somewhat apologetic, but they put us on a line with the district manager for help. Not only was the manager rude and unhelpful, they actually hung up on us during the call. We were left stranded during a Spartan Race weekend, when the entire town was nearly sold out. We eventually found alternate lodging for a similar room arrangement, but it was almost twice as expensive — all because Quality Inn couldn't honor a reservation they confirmed months in advance. This wasn’t a small mistake — it was a total failure of planning, communication, and basic customer service. I will never book with Quality Inn again, and I strongly warn others: your reservation here means nothing. If they overbook, you're on your own.
Normally we only stay at Comfort Inns. However, we recently stayed here and were completely satisfied. It was truly a pleasure talking with and getting to know the front desk girl “Katee”. She went above and beyond helping us. The breakfast was plentiful and hot. The room was clean. It’s great customer service people that truly stands out. Katee is one of these people. A very satisfied guest, Connie
