The Sapphire Motel consistently receives excellent reviews, praised for its unique retro aesthetic, comfortable rooms, and friendly service. Guests appreciate its convenient location, affordability, and attention to detail, making it a memorable and charming lodging option in Bozeman. While occasional hot water issues have been reported, the overall experience is overwhelmingly positive.
We found the style and comfort of this motel top notch. It looks like it could be a set for a movie. I’m guessing they took a crappy, rundown motel and spruced it up with a cool, retro look. The service is quite good and the beds are big and comfortable. It’s walkable to Main Street and dedicated parking is right outside the door. This place is fairly simple but it hits all the right notes.
We used this place as our base for visiting Yellowstone Park. The staff were great. The laundry area was the nicest I have ever seen in a motel/hotels. I love the decor and the newer features as well. So glad we chose this place for our once in a lifetime vacation to Montana
This was a great place for a big family . We stayed in the two room suite . Comfy and clean . So close to great places to eat . Great vibe! We did wake up to no hot water but they were working hard to try to fix it and made it right . Highly recommend especially for the price .
Booked a night here last minute and was pleasantly surprised! The room was the most affordable in town and sometimes that can translate to a less than desirable stay however this hotel exceeded my expectations. The woman who checked me in was so kind! I loved the retro aesthetic and the room was very clean and comfortable for the night. I especially enjoyed the little white noise machine, which allowed me a great night’s sleep. The water pressure in the shower was also very good. Overall, I’d def. stay here again and recommend it to family. The location is fantastic! Very walkable to lots of restaurants and entertainment options!
This place was the perfect home base on our ski trip. Very clean and comfortable. Great service. We enjoyed the morning coffee in the lobby on our drives to Bridger and Big Sky. Coin-op laundry on site was appreciated. Definitely walkable to downtown, but it could be a long walk for short legs.
Top notch! Clean rooms, comfortable beds, fresh (good!) coffee in office, and super friendly and helpful staff. They recommended restaurants and local hikes, and were ready to assist with anything. Will stay again.
Great value - clean and convenient. We stayed here mid week in Feb of 2026 and the place was sold out. There’s a reason. Friendly staff, food trucks across the street, close to the freeway and downtown. Not quite walkable to downtown but definitely walkable to a variety of food options.
Super cute atomic mid century OG motel. The staff was friendly and welcoming. The room was spacious and clean. Decor was very cute. The motel is a short 10 min walk from downtown. Great location. We were stoked about our stay.
I’ve traveled to all 50 states and over 20 countries, and I can honestly say The Sapphire Motel is the best value for the money I’ve ever experienced anywhere. The rooms are beautifully updated, spotless, and thoughtfully designed. It’s clear they didn’t cut corners or miss the details. Everything feels intentional and well done. On top of that, the staff is incredibly friendly and welcoming, which makes a huge difference and is something you don’t always find anymore. And the price? Hands down the best rate I’ve ever gotten for this level of quality and comfort. I genuinely wish I could give 10 stars. If you’re staying in Bozeman and want an unbeatable combination of price, comfort, and hospitality, this is the place.
This place exceeded my expectations. It was like stepping back into my childhood memories of family trips. Love all the nostalgic pieces and decor in the rooms. Extremely clean. Blackout shades and curtains, comfortable firm mattresses, nice linens and very quiet. Bathroom had all new fixtures but in retro style. I’d stay here again over any of the top chain hotels! Best overnight experience we have had in a long time! Great job bringing this gem back to life! Was also very impressed with the staff at the front desk- friendly, happy and helpful!
