Nice place, glad to see reuse of an existing location instead of yet another boutique box. Reasonable rates, car surcharge was pretty high. Comfortable room, minimal decor but nice western theme. The room could have used a regular chair. Room was a little stuffy, even with the A/C on. Lots of LED's , it was never dark. Liked the coffee bar, friendly staff.

I'd probably rate this a 3.5. It's an old motel with absolutely no soundproofing. You can hear every single car drive by and people in the lobby talking until 11pm. However, the beds are comfortable and the room is nicely updated and clean. The front desk folks are nice, especially Rain. You don't get free coffee though and it is priced the same as a 4 star hotel (we paid more than $300 a night). Would not stay here again.

The rooms at the Wandering Buffalo were thoughtfully designed, well decorated and very comfortable. We loved the open closet concept as well as the rack that you could hang jackets, etc.. The vanity is located outside of the bathroom, which is a huge plus. The shower was nice size and had the bulk shampoo, conditioner and shower gel. Towels are great quality and all the bedding was super comfortable. Please note that there is not an elevator and even in you are on the first floor you will have go down 4 or 5 steps. We would have enjoyed having a mini fridge in the room. We could not figure out the coffee machine in our room, so we purchased our coffee from the front desk each morning. It was $3 a cup for regular drip coffee. The first morning there were pastries, donuts and apples available for purchase, but I did not see anything other than apples the second morning. They could use another person The front desk agent seems a bit overworked in the morning. They are the barista (making espressos and pouring coffee) as well as checking people out and answering questions. With that being said all employees were very customer service oriented. My biggest complaint is that Parking is $20 per night, which doesn't seem appropriate for the location. My biggest rave beside the room is that there is a really cute outside fire pit area. Great way to meet fellow travelers.

This was a very cute and well decorated little motel. It had a bed and breakfast type feel as it is small with no elevators. I did not feel it was worth the price of the stay as everything was an added price. Specifically, a pot of coffee in the lobby would be a nice touch, extra pillows or blanket (we were told there were none available) and a mini fridge in the room (these are available upon request and take a while to cool down once delivered) would also be nice. It felt like they were still trying to figure out how to run the place.

Nice clean room; decent mattress. Walls are very thin. We could hear folks talking, walking and moving around outside our room and above us. Appreciated the free coffee. Good value for the price.

Lovely hotel. The beds were very comfortable, and the room was wonderfully dark for sleeping. I loved the décor - everything felt thoughtfully designed and a little special. The staff members I interacted with were friendly and welcoming throughout my stay. One thing that wasn't mentioned at check-in was whether the hotel has an elevator. Fortunately, we were on the second floor and only had carry-on luggage, so it wasn't an issue for us, but it may be helpful information for other guests. Also, be aware that the coffee bar and pastries are not complimentary; there is an additional charge for both. Parking was $20 per night, which felt a bit steep given the hotel's location on the edge of Bozeman. Overall, we had a very pleasant stay and appreciated the comfortable accommodations and excellent service.

Rooms did not have a fridge or microwave. The A/C unit had a note on it to only turn it down to a certain temperature; it would be better to just fix or replace the unit than ask a paying customer to limit the use of an amenity. We sat out by the firepit with no fire burning, but the front desk worker in plain sight did not take the initiative address it. So in general, several basic amenities missing or not kept up. With that, the location is nice on the edge of town with less commotion, but still within walking distance of downtown. The condition of everything else in the building and guest room was excellent.

The owners did such an amazing job of designing and creating the Wandering Buffalo! The rooms are so comfortable and inviting. The lobby is absolutely beautiful! The fire pit outside is a great place to hang out on a nice evening. The perfect alternative to the boring chain hotels! Easy access to downtown and very quiet.

We enjoyed our short stay here. Be advised, there are 3 floors and no elevators. So please be aware of that if you cannot do stairs. Also, bring ear plugs or a fan because the walls are a bit thin. The room description states the tv is a smart tv. It's not. The service was great! I really felt like the employees cared for us and our stay. When checking in they let us know multiple times, there is no fridge or microwave but if we needed it, they would be more than happy to provide it for us. The water is consistently hot, so showers are clean and great. The $20 parking fee is listed on their website, and I was completely fine paying that price since it is stated on their website. Everything was very clean and the beds are comfortable. I rarely go barefoot in hotels, but the carpets are very clean and soft. (I know that's odd but that is something that screams out to me on cleanliness).

We came to Bozeman to go to the Museum of the Rockies, walk the sculpture park, and eat at Blackbird. The Wandering Buffalo was perfectly located. It has friendly, professional staff and the rooms were comfortable and well appointed. The Nescafe in the room was nice, but as others have noted, there is no USB port, so bring your own plug. Overall a very nice place to spend the night.
